Historically, eggs were a banned commodity throughout the month and a half duration of Lent, so it made sense to try to use up all the household eggs before they could go bad. To do so, many families made a game out of it, hiding the white ovals and allowing the kids to embark on a scavenger hunt. Winners got to eat their yolk-filled treasure!
Well, we like the fact that the egg hunt has been moved to Easter. And we like even more that we can now use this tradition to enjoy more candy! So join us in our sweet scavenger hunt — nix the original variety and hide some candy-filled Easter eggs instead! These pink, purple, and blue plastic eggs are each stuffed with sweet treats.
